FINDERS KEEPERS?
OCTOBER 2024
For this project, I created a poster to bring awareness to colonialism and its impact on stolen art in art museums and other important institutions.
THE PROCESS:
MOODBOARD & SKETCHES:
For this project, my main goal was to create a poster that resembled a museum exhibition poster, mostly due to the related topic.
ITERATIONS:
Originally I had this on a white background, but I wanted to see what it would look like on black as well. I liked how it looked, but I wanted it to be a little more powerful so I tried adding a spotlight to the white background to put more emphasis on Napoleon.
While I liked the spotlight, I thought it looked way better on the black background, and it really made the subject stand out. I also played around with the text and deciding what exactly I wanted written on the poster.
FINAL POSTER:
a real-world impact:
I was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Graphis New Talent Awards, having my name be published in their book.
On February 27, 2025, my poster was displayed in Times Square as part of PosterFor’s International Poster Design Competition, earning a silver award. To date, this has been my biggest design accomplishment and I am honored to have been able to have my message be seen by thousands of people walking through Times Square, NYC.
